Miraculously the skies cleared, the sun shone and the feeling of spring was finally upon us as Can DO People’s families and friends gathered Sunday, May 4th at Tavern United/Canad Inns for our ‘Can Do it for Mom’ burger and bevy fundraiser. As we are “Can Do-ers”, word spread quickly and interest blossomed with 107 guests joining us for a delicious lunch and an opportunity to broaden our friendships and raise awareness of Can DO People. Spotted amongst the group: Judy Wasylycia-Leis, Olympic silver medallist Janine Hanson, Mrs. Molly Maid herself, Heather Lamontagne as well as our biggest heroes: Robert, Haillee, Kevin, Carla, Stephen and Noah.
Our event held a 50/50 draw and an amazing silent auction themed “What would Mom want?” Prize baskets included gift certificates for: spas, lunches, housecleaning, flowers, car rentals, artwork, Jets memorabilia and a coffeemaker to name just a few. Both draws were well received and thanks to our generous guests, we all came out winners raising $3294.50 for Can DO People.
